Found this little thing in the sea of YA novels on Amazon. Although the cover wasn’t that attractive, I tried the sample, and was truly intrigued, so I decided to send the whole thing to my Kindle…
Imagine my surprise when I had finished the book in under 2 days [I also have other things to do beside reading most of the time, otherwise it would have been sooner] and actually LOOO-O-O-VED IT!!!
*Some spoilers MIGHT follow!*
You know how in YA books, the main character feels weak and whiny? Well this book had none of that (maybe a little bit, but negligible)! And Jena’s writing was so freaking great that I looked up the series’ site (I only did that twice in the past!!!). I mean holy mamma!!!!
No witches, no werewolfs, no vampires, sorry supernatural lovers! =/ But I guarantee you will love this little morsel of drama, funny situations and teen awkward courting!!! ^^
The one thing that, let’s say, I’m not the most fond of is the ending. A lot of things happen, that build up momentum, slowly making you cling to the edge of your chair with anticipation for the ending, and then… puff! Alex, the main character, takes her life into her own hands and ta-da! ending =| Uhmm…?!
I’m hoping that if I give you a heads-up, then you won’t be as disappointed as I was about the whole thing *smiles slightly to herself with appreciation*
I’m already through the sequel, Resistance, and I can honestly say that Leigh is putting in some new and interesting twists to Alex’s situation.
Plus, I know the main character’s going to choose Declan, because he’s steamy and saves her a lot, which is the classic recipe for romance novels, but Nathan is keeping secrets and I would really want to know what they are! *strokes her imaginary beard*
Tell me what you think of Revival, if you choose to read it! =)
