*I might slip and let loose a few spoilers, so be warned that you might get a sneak peak into some of the book’s action!*
I just want to start with the fact that the cover model looks a lot like how I imagined Zayne to be, so a big WOO-HOO! from me for this! ^^
And now getting to more serious affairs…
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME???!!!
I was so looking forward to see if Roth returns, and if the romance gets any more spicier… and then WHAM! Armentrout fixes Layla up with Zayne, and Roth is acting like an idiot! What in the name of holy hot demons happened?!
So Roth comes back, with a BANG! I might add, and tells Layla that he doesn’t want anything to do with her… she goes running off to Zayne and all of a sudden they become a couple…
How? Why? I mean, I know that after a heart-wrenching breakup you need a rebound, but come on!
And of course Roth shows up every here and there and sulks when he sees them together. You can see that he still loves her, and you ask yourself ‘why won’t he just get over himself, and admit it?!’ Well, apparently he has a very good reason, which you’ll find out about more towards the end of the book, but I still wish I would’ve been reading about Roth & Layla instead of Zayne and Layla, ya’ know?
Her relationship with the snake is evolving, which I find cute and endearing! ❤ Hearts all around!!!
Also, from the excerpt for the last book in the series, Every Last Breath, you kind of guess that something’s up with Sam, and you start to wonder if the Lilin isn’t really him. The thing is that there’s so much happening around Layla, that you’re questioning that assessment… Hmmm, enticing!
Anyway, I’m going to leave you with two quotes I really liked from the book (I’m going to be doing this a lot from now on in my reviews =D). Enjoy! ❤
A fierce wind kicked up, spreading the flames as a loud crack shook the warehouse. The roof groaned and shuddered, then peeled off as if someone had opened a can of sardines. Clumps of charred rock mowed down two of the Wardens, taking them out of the game. Good God, was this all Roth?

I muttered a curse under my breath and reached down, carefully taking off the sweater and tank top in one pull. As I dropped the oh-so offending material onto the floor, I cast my gaze to my stomach.
It really didn’t look that… bad.
The claws had just grazed me, but the three marks were a dark, angry red and tiny little lines were branching out from the cuts like veins.
After a few tense seconds, I realized Roth hadn’t moved. Where in the Hell was the whole “time is of the essence” crap? I lifted my gaze and saw that he seriously hadn’t moved at all.
Still crouched by the bed, the bottle of holy water dangled from his long fingertips. He was staring at me with the same kind of intensity he had in the locker rooms, but there was a heat behind his golden eyes and his stare was fixed on my chest. At least Bambi wasn’t using my boob as a pillow this time. Her diamond-shaped head was resting against my lower stomach now.

If you haven’t guessed it already, I’m a big Roth&Layla fan, so both quotes surround them! =D
Now I’m off to read the third one in the series, Every Last Breath… can’t wait to see how things go down! ^^
